Pet Society - Fishing

Today when I played the Facebook Pet Society. It has a new feature come out. The Pet can go to fishing at somewhere near their house. I’ve enjoyed the fishing few hours with run out of coin now.

That is very simple and you could try

1. Click to reel fish in

2. Let go when fish struggles

3. Click again when fish is calm

If you are thinking that different food will attack different type of fish, then you are wrong. I fished with an apple for bait, and I get a star fish, Silver Arowana, star fish baby doll and etc. I use lemon and get a dogfish.

Here’s a running list of Fish and Bait which I’ve compiled, which i get from the internet and some is the fish I get by using different bait like apple, lemon, meat, juice and etc. As you can see, there seems to be very little rhyme or reason to this. More expensive items do not necessarily lead to better fish. I believe by using expensive item to fishing, it will have higher % to get the fish rather than getting the soda can, fish bone. So, try your luck today.  You might get some different fish out of my list. :)

Once the fish is caught, it can only be stored in your chest or in an aquarium or you can sell it with just few coin only. Aquariums are available at the Garden Store. As of July 24, 2009, fish cannot be eaten by your pets. They are just for decoration. You could buy different size of aquarium from the store and put in your fish. My Aquariums is full now and lack of money to buy another one.

Also, if you caught old boot, empty bottle, broken bottle those unused thing, you could get it recycle and get the recycle point. Each item list above could recycle 10 point. So that you could accumulate your recycle point by using this method.

Tips for Catching Fish in Pet Society:

First, read the directions below the pond.

When you receive a bite, click and hold your pet to start reeling in the fish. You’ll know you have a bite when there is a splash in the water. Release a little when the fish struggles. You’ll know the fish is struggling when there are bubbles in the water and your pet scrunches his/her face. Do not fight with the fish. Let go for a moment until the water is calm. Then click again and reel the fish in. The fish will struggle a couple more times. Repeat steps 3-4 as you reel the fish closer toward you. Different food items will attract different types of fish. Since you might not catch a fish the first time around, try practicing with cheap items (banana, apple, corn, etc.) until you master the skill. See part 2 of this post for a list of bait and fish.

Remember, do not fight with the fish. If you try too hard, the fish will go away. Hmm, that sounds like classic dating advice. The fish will only stay hooked if you pretend every once in a while that you don’t want it!
